Jersey Cabana threw a perfect game and Kaylee Stinnett drove in 11 runs as the Lane College softball team swept Rust College on opening day of the 2023 season.
The Dragons slugged 38 hits and scored 44 runs over two games while recording 19 extra base hits.
Cabana, a freshman from San Dimas, Calif., faced the minimum and allowed no base runners while striking out 11 of the 15 batters she faced in game one.
Stinnett ended the day going 5-for-7 at the plate with two home runs, four runs scored, and 11 RBI.
Millay Lambert and Kela Ray both had six hits each on the day.
In game two, sophomore Autumn Phillips went the distance in the win, pitching 5.0 innings and striking out seven batters while allowing three hits.
