Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) Jonathan Estes has been named the 2021-22 MSC Male Coaching for Significance Award recipient. Estes led the Lions baseball team 39-17 record while winning the MSC Regular Season title and earning Coach of the Year honors. Freed-Hardeman also qualified for the NAIA Opening Round.
Estes meets with the team before practice each day for the pre-practice left field lessons. These meetings range between 5-30 minutes and include inspirational thoughts or stories with real-life applications and other presentations and team building activities. He makes sure the team is active in the community with different service projects.
Presented to a coach who is an outstanding teacher, an exemplary role model and a dynamic leader. These individuals are the catalyst for uniting players into a single, selfless team that accomplishes memorable feats. A coach who earns the trust and respect of student-athletes and makes a profound impact on their lives both on and off the playing fields. The award is selected by the conference's character committee.
