Freed-Hardeman University at the NAIA National Championship

059e

Congratulations to Madison Grant, Matthew Ray and Nathan Mangurm for their success in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. All three qualified for the half-marathon. Madison also qualified in the fall for the NAIA Cross Country Championship. All three represented FHU well. Nathan Mangrum's 10th place finish was a new personal record as well as a school record with an impressive 1:11:49 half-marathon finish. Congratulations to all including Coach Derrick Spradlin who has led the team to new school heights as well as recruited great runners joining FHU this fall. He described the team in this way; "The chemistry on the team is really good right now," said Spradlin. "They push themselves really hard and are setting high expectations for themselves, and they do it while being able to smile and joke around and have fun with each other. So many of them are leaders in their own ways, and they represent Freed well, and they make my job fun."
