Thank you to everyone that came to Keep Chester County Beautiful’s Community Celebration at Gene Record Park this morning. Today many leaders, groups, individuals, and businesses came together to celebrate CCHS/TCAT Welding students and former Henderson Parks Director, Dena Azevedo.
We are very proud of the CCHS/TCAT Welding students, United Auto Body’s Mary Gobelet, and FHU’s Department of Fine Arts for the hard work and skill put into this year’s Recycled Sculpture Project. The welding students put over 500 hours of work and over 300 horseshoes into their wing sculpture. Gobelet and FHU Art students put in over 42 hours hand painting the sculpture. The results are amazing!
Dena Azevedo was honored for her dedication to Henderson’s parks today with the planting and dedication of a pin oak tree and Dena’s Butterfly Garden. Over 50 members of CCHS’s FFA and instructor Teresa Crouse planted the butterfly garden around the pin oak. The students prepped the plants and used their own compost during the planting. We are sure Ms. Dena’s tree and butterfly garden will bring as much joy to the community as she has.
We would like to thank all those in the community that contributed, partnered, and sponsored these community projects.
