Today, U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, introduced Kimberly Guilfoyle at a nomination hearing. Guilfoyle has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece.
In his prepared remarks, Hagerty expressed his support for Guilfoyle, highlighting her extensive experience and qualifications. “It is my honor to introduce my good friend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is President Trump’s nominee to be the U.S. Ambassador to Greece,” said Hagerty.
Guilfoyle’s career includes roles as an attorney and political commentator. She has worked with Fox News as a co-host of The Five and Outnumbered and appeared on networks such as CNN, ABC News, and Court TV as a legal analyst. Her legal career began in California where she served in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and as Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles.
Her academic credentials include graduating magna cum laude from the University of California, Davis, and earning a J.D. from the University Of San Francisco School Of Law. Guilfoyle has received several awards for her work in law and public service including recognitions from the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and the City of New York.
Most recently, she was honored by the Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church of America for her contributions to strengthening ties between Greece and the United States.
Hagerty emphasized her suitability for representing U.S. interests in Greece due to her expertise and connections with the Greek-American community. He also shared personal reflections on their friendship: “As I moved from my prior post as U.S. Ambassador to Japan into the U.S. Senate, Kimberly was there for me.”
He concluded by urging his colleagues on the committee to support Guilfoyle’s nomination.
