United States Senator Bill Hagerty introduced Thomas Rose, nominated by President Donald Trump to be the U.S. Ambassador to Poland, during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing. Hagerty highlighted Rose’s extensive background in journalism and public service as qualifications for the role.
In his prepared remarks, Hagerty described Rose as “a principled conservative” and “a steadfast supporter of America First and U.S. national interests abroad.” He praised Rose’s experience covering significant historical events as a journalist, including apartheid in South Africa and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Rose has held notable positions such as publisher and CEO of The Jerusalem Post and served as Chief Strategist and Senior Advisor in the Office of the Vice President during Trump’s first term. His recent work includes co-hosting a talk show focused on global affairs.
Hagerty emphasized Poland’s importance as an ally, citing its defense spending within NATO and its strategic position on the alliance’s eastern flank. He expressed confidence in Rose’s ability to advance U.S. foreign policy and strengthen relations with Poland.
“I urge my colleagues on this Committee to support his nomination,” Hagerty concluded.
