United States Senator Bill Hagerty of Tennessee addressed the Senate to rally support for Whitney Hermandorfer, President Donald Trump’s nominee for a judgeship on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
In his prepared remarks, Hagerty emphasized Hermandorfer’s qualifications and experience. He highlighted her academic achievements, noting that she graduated at the top of her law school class and held clerkships in several prestigious courts, including two stints at the Supreme Court of the United States.
Hagerty praised Hermandorfer’s work as a lead strategist and advocate for Tennessee in complex cases. “Ms. Hermandorfer has the experience and demeanor that our very best judges possess,” he stated, citing her humility, kindness, and optimism.
He assured that if confirmed, Hermandorfer would interpret the Constitution according to its original meaning and administer justice impartially. “She will rule without preference to the poor or rich, weak or powerful,” Hagerty said.
The senator called on his colleagues to support Hermandorfer’s nomination during a procedural vote and expedite her confirmation process.
