United States Senator Bill Hagerty announced on Mar. 31 several staff promotions and new hires for his Washington, D.C., office.
These changes are intended to strengthen the senator’s ability to serve constituents in Tennessee. Hagerty said, “I’m pleased to announce these promotions and welcome new members to my staff. Their experience and dedication will help ensure our office continues delivering results for Tennesseans.”
Jillian Cantrell has been promoted to Legislative Assistant, managing portfolios including Healthcare, Education, Labor, Pensions, and Veterans’ Affairs. Cantrell previously served as Legislative Aide, Legislative Correspondent, and Staff Assistant. Cecilia Ann Hutton will now serve as a Legislative Correspondent assisting with Judiciary, Homeland Security, and Rules matters after her previous role as Staff Assistant.
New additions include Sean McCarthy as Legislative Aide focusing on emergency management and economic development issues; Mary-Hunter Brown as Staff Assistant following her internship in the same office; Varsha Dasari joining from Congressman Kevin Hern’s office as a Staff Assistant; and Peter ‘Mackie’ Rich serving as Legislative Correspondent after graduating from Columbia University.
Hagerty was elected U.S. Senator from Tennessee according to the official website. His background includes being an Eagle Scout from Sumner County who volunteers with civic organizations according to the official website.
