Senator Bill Hagerty, a Republican representing Tennessee in the U.S. Senate, recently posted a series of tweets addressing concerns about federal law enforcement practices and state-federal coordination.

On February 5, 2026, Hagerty wrote: “2. Require ICE agents to remove face coverings. Why are ICE agents wearing them? Doxxing of ICE agents is up 8,000%. Assaults on ICE are up 1,300%. These officers are facing real threats, and it is because people like Tim Walz have called them the “modern-day Gestapo.” Gavin”.

In another tweet posted the same day, Hagerty stated: “5. Ensure State and Local Coordination and Oversight Democrats in Virginia and states across the country have refused to work with DHS and federal law enforcement personnel. If Democrats want to see an example of what coordination looks like with the federal government, they”.

He also addressed issues related to religious institutions and protest activity: “4. Protect “sensitive” locations from enforcement, like churches Radical Left protestors have interrupted church services in this country, filming and doxxing peaceful Americans practicing their faith. Will Schumer and Democrats protect churches from their radical base?”.

Senator Hagerty’s office operates multiple district locations across Tennessee as well as a site in Washington, D.C., at the Russell Senate Office Building (official website). His office provides constituent services such as casework assistance and support with federal agencies throughout regions including Chattanooga, Knoxville, and the Tri-Cities (official website). In addition to his legislative activities on social media, Hagerty holds positions on several Senate committees for the 119th Congress: Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; Foreign Relations; Appropriations; and Rules and Administration (official website).
