Senator Bill Hagerty, a U.S. Senator from Tennessee, used his social media platform on April 14, 2026, to address issues ranging from housing affordability and government shutdowns to quantum science advancements.

In one post on April 14, Hagerty referenced the President’s economic report and stated: “The Economic Report of the President is clear: deregulation is crucial to making housing more affordable. That’s why I’ve introduced the Freedom to Build Act, legislation that puts that principle into action and could cut more than $100,000 from the cost of a new single-family”.

Later that day, he commented on government funding and immigration policy. On April 14, he wrote: “.@SenSchumer has spearheaded the two longest government shutdowns in history. @SenateDems have subjected the men and women at @DHSgov to massive pain. Republicans are going to come together and fully fund DHS through—at the very least—the entirety of @POTUS’s term. Immigration”.

Addressing scientific progress in Tennessee on World Quantum Day, Hagerty posted on April 14: “On #WorldQuantumDay, we’re at a pivotal moment where quantum science, computing, energy, and economic growth are converging. Tennessee is ready—powered by leaders like Oak Ridge National Laboratory, @EPB_Chattanooga, our great universities, and bold investment through the”.
